Dak Prescott is an American football quarterback who played college football for the Mississippi State Bulldogs and was then selected by the Dallas Cowboys in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft. He was intended to serve as a backup in his rookie season but after starter Tony Romo was injured in the preseason, he became the Cowboys‘ starting quarterback and earned recognition during the year for his on-field success. As a rookie, he set many quarterback records and was named the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year as well as earned a Pro Bowl selection.

  1. He lost his mother to colon cancer while he was in his sophomore year at Mississippi State University.
  2. He has selected his number 4 shirt in honor of his mother, whose birthday was on September 4th.
