What would you say if I tell you that you are going to get a glimpse at fitness tips shared by the President of one of the biggest fitness companies, Equinox? You will be amazed, right? So, not to complicate the matters further, here’s a list of fitness tips shared by the woman who is managing not only Equinox but brands like Blink Fitness, SoulCycle, Pure Fitness and Pure Yoga.

Reduce Dependence on Processed Foods

As reported by Yahoo, Sarah revealed to let go of your habit of eating processed foods. Even practices like drinking cola should be changed by every person who wants to make a difference in his health levels. If you are too dependent on colas like she was, you should try replacing the colas with seltzer. This has helped Sarah to boost her energy levels and would surely help you too.

You should also remember not to make any change hastily or try not to completely overhaul your diet in one day. Start with little changes, like replacing cola with a healthy drink and then start on your other processed food dependencies such as replacing market bought chips with homemade ones.

Don’t Compromise Sleep for Work

Most of us try to work a lot especially due to business or work responsibilities and often sleepless due to the work pressure. The businesswoman is totally against this habit. She believes that getting less sleep may cause many problems like reducing a person’s innovative thinking, dulling his problem-solving skills, making him less alert and the obvious, makes a person look less attractive (Think of all those dark circles and swollen eyes).

So, she suggests every person to get his or her share of sleep on a regular basis to stay fit and active. After all, if you don’t get enough sleep and you can’t concentrate on work, you will only end up losing precious hours, won’t you?

Try Different Workouts

The successful lady believes that everyone should mix up their workouts. It helps you get in better shape and reduces the monotony. Citing her own example, she said that she was very obsessed with running earlier and focused on running as her only workout. But, since she started experimenting and added personal training and Pilates into her workout routine, she feels that she is in a better shape.

You may be interested in knowing that she works out almost everyday by running 5 miles, doing Pilates or participating in Tough Mudders that includes jumping into large bins of ice cubes and getting mild electric shocks. She also runs a half marathon, every chance she gets. Hmmm, so O’Hagan really follows what she preaches, don’t you think it’s cool?

Seek Company While Working Out

The mother of three advises everyone to exercise with someone you are close to. Exercising with another person would give a competitive edge to the workouts and you will push yourself harder to win the game. Though this advice is really worth trying but we suggest that you should always know your limits and never chew more than you can swallow while working out with friends as you may end up seriously injuring yourself.

Measure Your Progress

When you are seriously putting time within your workouts, you should also concentrate on measuring your progress, says the former Global President of Gatorade. You can measure your progress by using technological tools such as Apple Watch (like she does). It will give you exact data on your progress and help you set new and achievable fitness goals. It will also help your workout sessions to be more effective while making it all seem like fun.
