When the former reality star was super busy during her teens and early twenties, she was obsessed with eating low-fat and low-calorie foods. She tried all sorts of diet like no-carb diet, grapefruit diet, zone diet, etc. She even tried an Atkins diet in which she ate a whole block of cheese. She counted her calories and ate only 1800 calories in a day. Kristin also stayed away from carbs and sugar based products because she thought it would help her to get the body of her dreams.
Though Cavallari’s self-control during weekdays and as a young lady is somewhat admirable but she never succeeded in achieving the body shape she craved. The reason behind it was her lack of self-control during the weekends. She ate just 1800 calories during the weekdays but ate many more calories during the weekends. Kristin even confessed that she used to buy food for eight persons but shared it with just one friend. (Whoa..that’s unique)
When the diva got pregnant with her son, Camden in 2012, she realized the value of a good diet and health, reports Style News. Before getting pregnant, she ate zero calorie foods because she wanted to look tiny. She also desired to look great on screen and wanted each of her photos to look amazing too. But when she got pregnant, she knew that everything she ate would directly affect the baby so she started eating wisely.

She makes her green smoothie with spinach, avocado, banana and adds a secret ingredient, half a teaspoon of peppermint extract. It helps the smoothie to taste like an ice cream shake and it also soothes an upset stomach.
Kristin has made some wise food replacements at her home that help her to stay fit. She prefers coconut sugar instead of white or brown sugar. She also substitutes agave syrup for maple in recipes and has started adding spelt, oat flour and brown rice to her pantry rather than white flour. She made the latter change because she believes that refined wheat can spike sugar levels. Canola is not used by her anymore as she has replaced it with coconut / olive oil.
The former The Hills (2006-2010) villain starts her day with a smoothie only when she has to workout in the morning. When she is not working out early, she has a filling breakfast such as fried eggs or scrambled eggs with spinach, bacon, and quinoa. She also prefers overnight chia-oat cups that have some chocolate chips, almonds, berries and shaved chocolate. Sometimes, she just has Oatmeal swirled with coconut oil, ground flaxseeds, and maple syrup.
