His close connect with Hispanics in Texas has helped him win multiple elections. Some insiders believe that this connection would help him become a big political star on the national level. However, his political rise hasn’t been devoid of controversies. The drink driving incident of September 1998 has especially become a thorny issue for him as his opponents have used it to raise questions about his personality.
