- She was encouraged by her mother to pursue music as she herself was an accomplished musician and Betty was enrolled at the Kansas City Conservatory of Music at the age of 5.
- Allegedly, her father once threatened to shoot her pregnant mother in the abdomen and after Betty’s birth, her mother had to once take shelter in a locked closet with her child because her husband had threatened her. Later, her parents divorced when Betty Lynn was 5 years old.
- Her grandfather George Andrew Lynn served as the father figure in her life.
- Betty Lynn made her first theatrical film appearance by playing the role of Ginger in the 1948 comedy film, Sitting Pretty, which starred Robert Young, Maureen O’Hara, and Clifton Webb.
- In October 1951, she made her TV show debut in an episode titled Never Wave at a WACÂ of the comedy-drama show, Schlitz Playhouse.
- She was considered for the role of the mother of Christine Jorgensen in the 1970 drama film, The Christine Jorgensen Story. However, she turned down the offer.
