Bradie Tennell is an American competitive figure skater who has compiled numerous wins and achievements in her career such as having won the bronze medals each at the 2018 Olympic team event, 2017 Skate America, and 2018 Internationaux de France. Bradie Tennell Facts

  1. She started learning how to skate at the age of 2 after her mother allowed her to try the sport.
  2. In 2007, Denise Myers became her coach. Around the same time, she also began training at Twink Rinks Ice Pavilion situated in Buffalo Grove, Illinois.
  3. She won the novice bronze medal at the 2013 U.S Championships. A year later, she moved up to the junior ranks and finished 4th at the 2014 U.S. Championships.
  4. In September 2014, Bradie debuted on the ISU Junior Grand Prix (JGP) series where she placed 8th in Nagoya, Japan.
  5. In 2015, she won the junior gold medal at the 2015 U.S. Championships by over 16 points. In May, Tennell was diagnosed with a stress fracture in both wings of lumbar vertebrae, which made her wore a back brace the entire summer.
  6. She started her 2015-2016 season by finishing 11th at the JGP event held in Linz, Austria. During the entire season, she joined a couple of events including the 2016 U.S. Championships on January 23 where she was placed 6th and the 2016 World Junior Championships during which she was ranked 4th in the free skate and finished 11th overall.
  7. She made her senior international debut at the 2016 CS Tallinn Trophy in late November 2016 where she won the bronze medal. In January 2017, she competed on the senior level at the 2017 U.S. Championships and finished at 9th place. In March, she went on again to compete at the 2017 World Junior Championships held in Taipei, Taiwan, where she finished at 7th place.
  8. In November 2017, she won the bronze medal at her sole Grand Prix assignment Skate America after finishing at 4th place in the short program and 3rd in the free skate. She finished the competition with a tally score of 204.10.
  9. After she was ranked 1st in the short program of the 2018 U.S. Figure Skating Championships, winning the competition with a score tally of 219.51, she was included in the U.S. women’s Olympic figure skating team to represent the United States in Pyeongchang alongside Karen Chen and Mirai Nagasu. She then made her Olympic debut in the women’s short program of the Team Event during which she earned her best score of the season with 68.94. Overall, the U.S. team including herself won bronze in the event.
  10. She started her 2018-2019 season by competing at the 2018 Autumn Classic International where she was ranked first after defeating Evgenia Medvedeva.
  11. Her first major competition for the 2019-2020 season was 2019 Skate America, where she won the short program with a new personal best score of 75.10.
  12. She is not a morning person. However, she has to wake up early in the morning for her training.
  13. She is a big fan of the pop band Imagine Dragons whose lead singer is Dan Reynolds.
  14. She got injured in 2015 due to which she had to wear a back brace the entire summer.
  15. Just like her mom who is a nurse, Bradie would also like to have a career in science or the medical field after figure skating.
  16. She is terrified of spiders, snakes, and also small spaces.
  17. Her mother is her role model.
  18. She has loved Cinderella so much that her music and outfits have been inspired from the story.
  19. She did not have her first haircut until the age of 13.
