- The 5th studio album, Brown Album, by Primus was released on July 8, 1997, and it comprised of songs such as Shake Hands with Beef, Duchess and the Proverbial Mind Spread, and The Chastising of Renegade. The album was also placed at number #21 in the Billboard 200 chart.
- He has been friends with the multi-instrumental musician, Buckethead, and the two were also members of the experimental rock project, Praxis, alongside Bill Laswell, Bernie Worrell, and Bootsy Collins.
- As a member of Praxis, Bryan Mantia worked on albums like Transmutation, Sacrifist, and Metatron.
- Transmutation was the first album released by Praxis in 1992 and it included tracks like Animal Behavior, Seven Laws of Woo, and Dead Man Walking.
- He also worked alongside Buckethead on his solo pursuits that included albums such as Monsters and Robots, Colma, The Cuckoo Clocks of Hell, and Bucketheadland 2.
