Girlfriend / Boyfriend / Spouse

Emmanuel Macron has dated –

  1. Brigitte Trogneux (1995-Present) – In 1993, Emmanuel fell head over heels in love with his high school teacher Brigitte Trogneux while studying at the La Providence High School in Amiens. As a 15-year-old boy, he took drama classes under Trogneux (39 years old at that time), who seemed highly impressed by the precocious student. To complicate matters further, Brigitte was the mother of his classmate Laurence Auzière. Macron’s growing attraction for his teacher alarmed his parents and so, they sent him away to finish his studies at the elite Lycée Henri-IV school in Paris. However, it seemed that nothing could keep them apart as the two reunited once he completed his graduation and started dating after he turned 18. Brigitte had married banker André-Louis Auzière in 1974 and shared 3 children – son Sébastien Auzière, and daughters Laurence Auzière and Tiphaine Auzière with her husband. Her divorce to Auzière was finalized in January 2006 and she tied the knot with Macron on October 20, 2007. The couple does not have any kids together but after marriage, Macron became stepfather to her 3 adult children, including Sébastien who is 2 years older than the French President.
  2. Mathieu Gallet – During his presidential campaign, Macron was accused of being involved in a secret gay affair with Mathieu Gallet, the former CEO of Radio France. Although Macron denied the claims at that time, the rumors gained momentum again in February 2018 after Gallet was sacked from his job on corruption charges. Certain sections of the media had reported that Macron got him fired as a ploy to keep their homosexual affair under wraps.
