Before he had even played high school basketball, Lance Stephenson had established himself as one of the most promising stars on the East Coast.   2. Feby Torres – Stephenson has had an on and off relationship with Feby Torres. Over the course of their relationship, she has given birth to 2 children – a daughter named Liara and a younger son. Best Known For

Having played for some of the leading NBA teams including Indiana Pacers, New Orleans Pelicans, Memphis Grizzlies, and Los Angeles Clippers. His stint with Indiana Pacers was his most productive one as he played his best basketball for the Indianapolis based team.

Lance Stephenson relies on the guidance of his personal trainer and coach, Mike Atkinson, to get the most out of his workout regime. He has devised a functional training plan for Stephenson which simulates game moves to improve his overall strength and conditioning. They also use basketball as a fitness prop in many of their workout routines.

Also, the focus is on improving his core strength to add more power to his game. Another unique aspect of Stephenson’s training regime is that they integrate modern and biological workouts such as Blood Flow Restriction Training in the overall training.

  1. He first caught the attention of the basketball scouts at the age of 12. He was delivering solid performances at Rumble in the Bronx AAU tournament when the experienced talent evaluator, Clark Francis, noticed him.
  2. In his first year at high school, he was invited to attend the Adidas ABCD Camp. At the camp, he gave a glimpse of his brash and confident personality as he challenged professional basketball player, O. J. Mayo, to a one-on-one game.
  3. In his first year at Abraham Lincoln High School, Stephenson led the basketball team to a city title.
  4. As he helped Lincoln High to become champions in his sophomore as well as the junior year, his talent was recognized with Player of the Year honor by the New York Daily News.
  5. In July 2008, he attended trials for the United States national team’s under-18 team. However, he wasn’t selected because of some chemistry reasons.
  6. In March 2009, he achieved the distinction of leading Lincoln High to 4th consecutive Public Schools Athletic League (PSAL) class AA championship. That was the first time in the history of the school that it had achieved such a special feat.
  7. In the early months of 2009, he revealed that he would select the college among Kansas, St. John’s, and Maryland. However, after canceling a couple of announcements, he selected none out of his early finalists and instead went for the University of Cincinnati.
  8. In his only year in college basketball, he finished as a leading scorer among the Big East freshmen. He was also declared Big East Rookie of the Year.
  9. At the end of his first season with Indiana Pacers, he was demoted from the first team squad because of his bad attitude and immaturity.
  10. Stephenson recorded the first triple-double of his professional career in November 2013 in a Pacers match against Memphis Grizzlies. He finished the match with 13 points, 12 assists, and 11 rebounds.
  11. He courted controversy in his side’s Eastern Conference final defeat to Miami Heat as he was spotted blowing in the ear of the Heat‘s LeBron James. Even Pacers team president, Larry Bird, criticized Stephenson’s unprofessional conduct.
  12. In 2014, he was offered a 5-year, $44 million, contract by Indiana Pacers. But, he decided against accepting it and decided to test the market as he believed that he was worth more.
  13. In July 2014, he signed a 3-year deal with Charlotte Hornets. The contract entitled him to $27 million over a period of 3 years.
  14. In January 2008, he was suspended by the school for 5 days. He also had to miss 2 games as he was disciplined for having an altercation with the teammate.
  15. In October 2008, he was arrested by the authorities for having groped a 17-year-old in the school. Following the incident, he was charged with Class B misdemeanor sexual assault.
  16. In August 2010, he was arrested on a third-degree assault charge. It was alleged that he had pushed his girlfriend down the stairs. Eventually, the case was dismissed.
