  4. When he was 3 or 4 years old, his mother moved her family from Jacksonville to Harlem in New York City to flee from her abusive husband.
  5. Mase spent most of his early teen years indulging in wrong activities such as gambling and running the streets. He was also cutting school classes.
  6. His mother got concerned about his demeanor and, at the age of 13, sent him to Florida. However, he returned back to New York when he turned 15 years old.

  8. In April 1999, during a radio interview, he revealed that he was retiring from rapping as he felt that he was leading people to hell. He also declared that it was time for him to serve God.

He released his 2nd studio album Double Up on June 15, 1999, via Bad Boy Records and it includes songs like No Matter What, Make Me Cry, If You Want to Party, Another Story to Tell, Blood is Thicker, All I Ever Wanted, and You Ain’t Smart.
