Susan Feniger Facts
- Since her close college friend Sharon Monsky was diagnosed with scleroderma in 1982, she has been doing activism work for the foundations connected with scleroderma.
- In fact, she has worked with Monsky’s Scleroderma Research Foundation for years. She is also the founding board member of the foundation.
- She is a board member of the Los Angeles LGBT Center, which was earlier known as Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Center.
- In 2013, the California Restaurant Association honored her with the Elizabeth Burns Lifetime Achievement Award.
- After completing her studies from the Culinary Institute of America, she worked in the restaurants in Kansas City, Chicago, and upstate New York City.
- When she moved to Los Angeles, she first worked in the position of line chef at Wolfgang Puck’s Ma Maison. She had to work for free for the morning shift but was paid for her evening shift.
