The couple moved into a starter home and started living there together in 1988.   1. On February 26, 2018, she revealed on The Ellen DeGeneres Show that she is still active in skating and still practices three times a week.
  2. During her youth, she was also drawn into many hobbies like hunting, drag race, and learning automotive mechanics from her father.
  3. Her parents divorced in 1987 following 19 years of marriage. At the time, Harding was 16 years old.
  4. She claimed that she was frequently abused by her mother and added that the abuses started when she was just 7. According to her, both physical and psychological abuse had become a part of her life.
  5. In her 2008 authorized biography, The Tonya Tapes, she revealed that she was the victim of acquaintance rape that happened in 1991, adding that her half-brother Chris Davison molested her several times. In 1986, she called the police after he sexually harassed and terrorized her. Though the accused was sent to prison for a short time, she added that her parents turned a blind eye about his behavior and even asked her not to press criminal charges against him.
  6. She trained as a figure skater all throughout her youth with coach Diane Rawlinson. In the mid-1980s, she started working way up the competitive skating ladder.
  7. In 1987, she finished at 5th place in the 1986 U.S. Figure Skating Championships. In 1988, she again finished 5th and in 1989, she finished in 3rd place.
  8. She was often remembered as a powerful free skater that had lower placements in the compulsory figures.
  9. In 1991, her career breakthrough came after she joined the U.S. Championships where she completed her first triple Axel in competition, making her the first American woman to execute the jump. She landed 7 triple jumps in the long program including triple Axel.
  10. In January 1994, she won the U.S. Championships but was removed from her title. The USFSA disciplinary panel decided to vacate her title following an investigation of the attack on Nancy Kerrigan.
  11. She landed a career in boxing in 2002 after she fought against Paula Jones on the Fox Network Celebrity Boxing event, during which she won the fight. Though she had a solid start in the boxing industry, her career was cut short due to her asthma. Her overall record was 3 wins and 3 losses.
