  1. His formal Hebrew name was ‘Yehudah Lev bar Shlomo Natan HaLevi’.
  2. Unlike his older brothers, Curly Howard was a quiet child and hardly ever troubled his parents.
  3. He was nicknamed ‘Babe’ by his older brothers to tease him. However, he was later nicknamed ‘Curly’ because Shemp Howard’s wife was also nicknamed ‘Babe’.
  4. He was a spendthrift and irrespective of his older brother’s attempts, he remained the same throughout his life.
  5. Although Curly Howard shaved his head for his character on the Three Stooges, he did not like this change because he opined that it reduced his appeal to the ladies.
  6. He completely loved dogs, especially stray dogs whom he often brought home.
  7. As a writer, Curly Howard worked on projects like A Hit with a Miss and Punch Drunks.
  8. The Three Stooges won the MTV Lifetime Achievement Award in 1993 as well as earned a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at 1560 Vine Street on August 30, 1983.
  9. In-person, Curly Howard was shy and somewhat of an introvert. To overcome his shyness, he often indulged in drinking too much which later became a troubling indulgence.
