Later on, he attended the University of Iowa and studied Communication and Theatre Arts. There, he was a member of the Alpha Epsilon Pi fraternity. After graduating college in 1955, he was accepted at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School in Bristol, England. He also trained at HB Studio.
