- She was brought up in Forster, New South Wales.
- River discovered her passion for writing and recording at a very early age. Also, she was about 5 or 6 years old when she started writing.
- Jack lost her younger sister Shannon in 2006 after she got caught in a faulty drain while in a spa and died. She was only 11 years old at the time.
- She had started her musical career under the stage name Rankin. However, she changed it to Jack River after moving to Sydney.
- Jack released her first piece of work on April 5, 2013, which was an EP titled On Nature Part One. It was compiled with a total of 8 tracks. Other than that, she has released several other EPs including the hit Highway Songs No. 2 (2016) and Stranger Heart (2020).
- In the year 2016, River signed up with I Oh You/Universal Music Australia.
- On June 22, 2018, Jack released her debut studio album titled Sugar Mountain.
