Omer Adam Facts

  1. Born in the United States, Omer’s family returned to Israel when he was still a toddler. The family first lived in Palmachim Airbase near the cities of Rishon LeZion and Yavne and they relocated to the town of Mishmar HaShiv’a when he was 3 years old.
  2. He had participated in the 7th season of Kokhav Nolad, a popular singing-based reality TV series in Israel. He was, however, disqualified because it was found out that he was 15 years and 7 months old at that time while the age criterion for appearing in the show was 16. Omer was among the favorites to reach the final of the competition and had competed in the first 6 weeks of the show before his eventual disqualification.
  3. After leaving Kokhav Nolad, he toured venues across the country and performed in more than 150 shows and concerts within a year.
  4. In June 2011, he became the youngest Israeli musician to be featured as the main artist in a concert when he performed in a live show in Caesarea Maritima, an ancient Israeli coastal city.
  5. In 2019, he declined an invitation to perform at that year’s Eurovision contest but he declined the offer because it meant that he would have to participate in rehearsals during Shabbat (the day of rest in Judaism). He had stated in an interview that although he was not a strict follower or observer of traditions in Judaism, he had made it a point to never work during Shabbat.
