Tash Sultana is an Australian singer and songwriter whose debut studio album titled Flow State (2018) had peaked at number 2 on the Australian charts and won the ‘Best Blues and Roots Album’ at the 2018 ARIA Music Awards. Their career began in 2013 with the independently-published EP named Yin Yang but it was their 2nd EP called Notion that shot them to fame as it peaked at number 8 on the Australian charts and led to a sold-out world tour in early 2017.   1. They began playing the guitar from the age of just 3 after receiving the instrument as a gift from their grandfather; and in their teenage years, began their music career through busking, the act of performing in public places in return for gratuities.
  2. By the time Tash was 17, they had become a drug addict and had developed drug-induced psychosis. They had to undergo several months of therapy to recover from their situation.
  3. From 2008 to 2012, when the group split, Tash was the vocalist of the band Mindpilot which won several competitions in Melbourne.
  4. Their 2016 single called Jungle was voted in 3rd place in Triple J‘s ‘Hottest 100’ list, an annual countdown of the most popular songs of the year, voted by listeners of the radio station. In 2017, they had 3 songs that were voted into the list.
