  1. Tommy was born with a deformed and detached retina in his right eye, resulting in permanent blindness in that eye.
  2. During his time at the Long Beach City College, he had recorded a 52 ft (16 m) shot put throw which had helped him earn him a scholarship to the California State University at Los Angeles. In his senior year, he had won the national shot put title by recording an even better throw of 61 ft 8 in (18.8 m). In 1982, he had won the NCAA Division II National Shot Put Championship.
  3. After college, he had joined the Converse Track Club where he had improved his shot put record to 64 ft 3 in (19.58 m). He had later tried out with the New Orleans Breakers of the United States Football League, an American football league that was played for 3 seasons (1983-1985). He was cut from the team after featuring in a couple of exhibition games. The drop had forced him to pursue another career and he had chosen to become an actor.
  4. He had been featured in the 1989 movie titled No Holds Barred which was financed by the World Wrestling Federation (WWF).
  5. In August 2012, he had pled guilty to conspiring to commit mortgage fraud in a scheme that had caused the victims USD 3.8 million in losses.
