Mike Rockenfeller Facts
- Mike started kart racing in 1995, aged 11, and participated in numerous local and national karting series through the late 1990s. In 2002, he won the Jörg van Ommen Kart Cup Super Series in Germany.
- By 2001, he had started participating in car racing championships and stood 4th in the Formula König Championship (a now-defunct open-wheel racing series based in Germany) that year, winning one race.
- In 2003, Mike finished 2nd in the German Carrera Cup (a one-make (all vehicles in the competition have identical or very similar designs/models) competition) and won the title in 2004.
- In 2005, he won the GT2 class driver championship title in the FIA GT Championship (a now-defunct sports car racing series that was mostly concentrated in Europe, with some races held in Asia and South America).
- in 2008, Mike won the European Le Mans Series (a series of endurance races broken into 4 classes: LMP1, LMP2, GT1, and GT2) in the LMP1 category (team) despite not winning any races. He and his partner, Alexandre Prémat, stood 2nd, 2nd, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th in the 5 races that were held in the series.
