First Soccer Match

Anouk Hoogendijk made her professional debut with the Dutch club Saestum in 2004.

Anouk Hoogendijk made her international debut as a half-time substitute for her national team of the Netherlands in a match against Japan on August 6, 2004, on the Sportpark Noordweg stadium in Zeist, Utrecht, Netherlands. The match ended with a 2–0 defeat for her team.

First TV Show

Apart from the broadcast of her football matches, Anouk Hoogendijk made her first TV show appearance as ‘Herself’ in an episode of the family, music, and cooking series Life & Cooking in 2007.

Personal Trainer

During her professional career, she worked out for at least 5 times a week as part of her endurance, cardio, and agility regime as part of the clubs she was in. She ate healthily, which meant a lot of fruits and vegetables, and drank plenty of water during and outside of the training and matches. Anouk admitted that eating a lot of calories and energy-packed complex carbohydrates was a must before a match. For that reason, she always ate a lot of pasta the day before.

After she retired from professional soccer, Anouk still kept with her typical workout schedule and diet plan. She isn’t vegan and actually accentuated the importance and benefits of meat as a quality source of proteins, especially beef. She transitioned to more of a half-marathon runner routine and diet, using the experience she has from her soccer days.

Anouk has posted numerous pictures of her trail running near the large bodies of water in her home country, and she also loves paddleboarding. After she noticed a dip in health, Anouk also tried to challenge herself and walk the distance of a half-marathon of about 21 kilometers at once. She succeeded in that endeavor in September 2018 and reported feeling tired but rejuvenated.
