Brooke Henderson is a Canadian professional golfer who began competing in the LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) Tour in 2015. Her best performances at the majors include the title triumph at the 2016 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship and a 2nd-place finish at the 2020 ANA Inspiration event. She has also won several other tournaments on the LPGA Tour including the Cambia Portland Classic (2015, 2016), the Meijer LPGA Classic (2017, 2019), the McKayson New Zealand Women’s Open (2017), the Lotte Championship (2018, 2019), the CP Women’s Open (2018), and the Hugel-Air Premia LA Open (2021). In team events, representing Canada, at the amateur tier, she had won the Espirito Santo Trophy, a biennial world amateur team golf championship for women organized by the International Golf Federation; in both 2012 and 2014.

  1. When Brooke had won the 2016 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, she had become the youngest golfer to win that major, the second-youngest woman to win any major, and the first Canadian golfer to win a major in 48 years. The win had moved her to 2nd in the world rankings.
  2. Her triumph at the Meijer LPGA Classic in June 2019 was her 9th win on the LPGA Tour, giving her the most number of victories on major tours by any Canadian professional golfer, male or female, in history.
  3. She was named the Canadian Press ‘Female Athlete of the Year’ in 2015, 2017, and 2018.
  4. In 2019, she had won the ‘Best Female Golfer’ award at the ESPY (Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly) Awards. The same year, she had also won the ‘LPGA Founders Award’ voted for by her fellow golfers on the LPGA Tour.
