  1. He spent initial years in Allen before moving to Fairview, Texas along with his family.
  2. Matt’s father Mike was a football coach who worked at Purdue University and Southern Methodist University. Whereas, his mother DeDe worked as a portrait artist.
  3. He had developed a passion for acting at an early age and went on to take part in a number of high school plays while at Allen High School.
  4. Barr was part of the cast of the American Pie Presents: Band Camp in which he played the role of Brandon Vandecamp.
  5. In 2009, he was cast on the web series of S*x Ed: The Series alongside various stars including Angela Sarafyan and George Finn.
  6. During his senior year in high school, he was one of 2 candidates to have been given a scholarship by the Texas Thespians for a monologue that he performed.
  7. Barr was yet in high school when he auditioned for the filmmaker Richard Linklater‘s Friday Night Lights. It was there that he came into the limelight of producer and filmmaker Ann Walker Mclay, Linklater, and collaborated with, director Clark Lee Walker with Levelland (2003).
  8. In mid-2003, Barr relocated to Los Angeles in order to followup on his acting career and landed himself the character of Billy on the hit medical drama show ER (2004). He had 4 lines in the show.
  9. He played Dan Patch as a series regular in the hit show Hellcats from 2010 to 2011.
  10. As of 2019, Matt had worked with various stars including Kate Upton, Orlando Jones, Ashley Tisdale, Bill Paxton, Kevin Costner, Eugene Levy, and Nathan Fillion.
  11. He was considered for the role of DC Comic’s Barry Allen in the show Arrow.
