Meredith Baxter is an American actress and producer who is best known for her portrayal of Meredith Baxter Birney on Family (1976–1980) and Family Ties (1982–1989). Other than that, Meredith is also known for her appearance as Betty Broderick on A Woman Scorned: The Betty Broderick Story (1992).

- Her mother Whitney Blake was known for playing Dorothy Baxter on the sitcom Hazel (1961-1966).
- Her mother and father legally parted ways in 1953, after which she and her brothers were brought up in Pasadena by their mother.
- She and her co-star Michael Edward Gross from Family Ties were both born on June 21, 1947.
- Meredith made her debut TV show appearance as Millie on The Interns in 1971. However, it was not until 1972, when she was cast as Bridget Fitzgerald Steinberg in Bridget Loves Bernie that Meredith began to attain recognition in the entertainment industry.
