Mike Flanagan’s ‘Carrie’ (2026) cast

Mike Flanagan’s ‘Carrie’ (2026) cast

Mike Flanagan has spent a decade turning Stephen King adaptations into prestige television, and his biggest swing yet is a multi-episode Carrie for Amazon MGM Studios and Prime Video. Instead of cramming King’s 1974 debut novel into 98 minutes like Brian De Palma did, Flanagan has room to stretch out the Chamberlain High School social politics, Margaret White’s religious abuse, and the slow build to prom night.

The casting is classic Flanagan: a few trusted regulars from Midnight Mass and The Fall of the House of Usher, a couple of recognizable genre veterans, and a lead who most viewers won’t know by name yet. Here’s who’s who, plus the height and body stats people start Googling the second the credits roll.

1. Summer H. Howell

The Canadian actress landed the title role of Carrie White, which is the kind of casting that changes a career overnight. Horror fans already knew her face: she played little Alice Pierce in Curse of Chucky (2013) and reprised the character in Cult of Chucky (2017), making her a franchise kid before she hit her teens.

Howell is a slight presence on screen, widely listed at around 5 ft 3 in with a slim build — which works in her favor for a character written as physically unremarkable and easy to overlook until she isn’t.

2. Samantha Sloyan

Casting Sloyan as Margaret White is the least surprising and most satisfying decision here. She’s been in Flanagan’s orbit since Hush (2016), played Leigh Crain in The Haunting of Hill House, stole Midnight Mass as the viciously pious Bev Keane, and came back as Tamerlane Usher in The Fall of the House of Usher.

Born in 1979, Sloyan stands about 5 ft 5 in and keeps a lean frame. Non-horror viewers know her as Dr. Penny Blake from Grey’s Anatomy.

3. Siena Agudong

Agudong takes on Sue Snell, the conscience of the story. Born May 15, 2004 in Kauai, Hawaii, she broke in on Nickelodeon’s Star Falls, headlined Netflix’s No Good Nick, and led Disney Channel’s Ultra Violet & Black Scorpion. Her older sister Sydney played Nani in the 2025 live-action Lilo & Stitch.

She’s one of the shortest members of the ensemble at about 5 ft 1 in, with a dancer’s build — she trained in hula and competitive dance growing up in Hawaii.

4. Alison Thornton

Thornton plays Chris Hargensen, the role Nancy Allen made famous in 1976 — the girl who refuses to apologize and escalates instead. It’s the meatiest antagonist part in the script outside of Margaret.

The Canadian actress has built her resume in Toronto-shot television, and Carrie is easily her highest-profile credit. She’s a slender 5 ft 5 in or so, with dark hair that’s been reworked for the part.

5. Amber Midthunder

Midthunder, born April 26, 1997 in Albuquerque, plays gym teacher Miss Desjardin. She’s the best-known young name on the call sheet thanks to Prey (2022), where she went through months of combat and weapons training to play Naru, plus five seasons as Kerry Loudermilk on Legion.

She’s about 5 ft 2 in and about 110 lbs, and she’s spoken about how much strength work Prey required — hauling her own gear, swimming in cold water, and doing most of her own fight choreography.

6. Matthew Lillard

Lillard, born January 24, 1970, plays Principal Grayle. He’s had one of the strangest second acts in Hollywood: Stu Macher in Scream (1996), Shaggy in Scooby-Doo, a bruising supporting turn in The Descendants, and then William Afton in Five Nights at Freddy’s.

At 6 ft 3 in and around 180 lbs, he’s the tallest adult in the cast and towers over the student characters — useful for a role built on institutional indifference.

7. Joel Oulette

Oulette plays Tommy Ross, the popular kid who takes Carrie to prom. The Indigenous Canadian actor broke out as Jared in CBC’s Trickster (2020), a role that earned him serious critical attention at 20.

He’s athletically built at about 5 ft 10 in, which fits a character King wrote as a high-school jock without making him a cartoon.

8. Arthur Conti

The young British actor takes Billy Nolan, Chris’s boyfriend and the other half of the prom-night plan. John Travolta played him in 1976; Alex Russell did it in 2013.

Conti is tall and wiry — around 6 ft — and relatively new to American audiences, which is exactly the kind of casting Flanagan tends to favor for his nastier supporting roles.

9. Kate Siegel

Siegel, born August 9, 1982 in Silver Spring, Maryland, has appeared in essentially every Flanagan production since Hush — which she co-wrote with him. Theo Crain in Hill House, Erin Greene in Midnight Mass, Camille L’Espanaye in Usher. She and Flanagan married in 2016.

She’s 5 ft 7 in with a lean, long-limbed frame, and she famously shot Hush almost entirely without dialogue.

10. Mike Flanagan

Not a cast member, but the reason this ensemble exists. Flanagan, born May 20, 1978, has now adapted King four times — Gerald’s Game, Doctor Sleep, The Life of Chuck, and Carrie — and King himself has publicly backed every one.

He stands around 5 ft 10 in and is a familiar sight at horror conventions in his trademark dark jacket and beard.

Between Flanagan regulars, two established genre names, and a lead who’s been working in horror since she was eight, this is a deeper bench than either previous Carrie film had. Expect the ensemble’s search traffic to spike again the week the finale drops.
