- Nina has confessed that it was a love of writing that had helped her get through school. She had never been a good test-taker, having even fallen asleep during the SATs. It had been her abilities to express her thoughts semi-skillfully via writing that had made her get by.
- She has disclosed that prior to kickstarting her modeling career in 2011, she had thought of joining the Air Force soon after her college graduation. However, her boyfriend managed to talk her out of it and assisted her in pursuing modeling, instead.
- Her love of modeling grew via her passion for fashion and photography.
