Praveen Sattaru is an Indian film director, screenwriter, and producer who has written and directed the Telugu-language films LBW: Life Before Wedding (2011), Routine Love Story (2012), Chandamama Kathalu (2014), Guntur Talkies (2016), PSV Garuda Vega (2017), The Ghost (2022), and Gandeevadhari Arjuna (2023). He served as the producer for the first 3 of these films. Besides these movies, Praveen also directed 11th Hour, an 8-episode Telugu-language crime thriller web series for aha, an Indian subscription video-on-demand and over-the-top streaming service which offers Telugu and Tamil-language content.

- Before joining the film industry, Praveen had worked as an SAP (enterprise software that helps manage business operations and customer relations – developed by SAP SE, a German multinational company that is the world’s leading enterprise resource planning software vendor) consultant with IBM (an American multinational technology corporation) for about 10 years.
- For his direction of Chandamama Kathalu (2014), a Telugu-language anthology film that has 8 sub-stories revolving around love, he won a National Film Award in May 2015 in the ‘Best Feature Film in Telugu’ category.
- In August 2018, it was announced that Praveen would be co-directing Baahubali: Before The Beginning (a streaming TV series for Netflix) whose first season of 9 episodes would act as a prequel to Baahubali: The Beginning, a 2015 Indian epic action film which at its peak was the 2nd-highest grossing Indian film of all time.
- After several delays caused in the filming of the project, it was reported in March 2021 that Netflix had revamped the project with a new creative team and completely scrapped the previously shot version.
