  2. Growing up, she often traveled around China and learned to paint as she was influenced by her parents.
  3. Tang Wei initially wanted to pursue a career as an archaeologist or lawyer until she entered a modeling shoot in 1997.
  4. As a theatre artist, she was cast as Lai Shengchuan in A Dream Like a Dream in 2001 and as Yang Ting in Che Guevara in 2004.
  5. In October 2007, Variety named Tang Wei as one of the “Top 10 Actors to Watch”.
  6. She brought to life the character of Oi Lin in the 2010 Hong Kong film Crossing Hennessy. For this performance, she bagged the “Best Actress” award at the 11th Chinese Film Media Awards.
