  1. Before her wrestling career took off, she used to work as a freelance video game journalist and graphic designer.
  2. When she started her wrestling career, she was trained by Yuki Ishikawa.
  3. She started her wrestling career in June 2004 in the all-female promotion, AtoZ.
  4. In March 2006, she announced that she was retiring from wrestling due to chronic nephritis, which is an inflammation of the kidneys. However, she managed to make her comeback in September 2007.
  5. During her brief retirement, she opened her own graphic design agency.
  6. While growing up, she participated in figure skating as well as badminton.
  7. She has opened her hair salon by the name of Another Heaven in Yokohama.
  8. She has contributed articles to the popular Xbox magazine.
  9. Asuka has worked on designing graphics for Nintendo DS and various other mobile applications.
  10. ‘Asu’ of her stage name translates to ‘to fly’ and ‘ka’ means ‘bird.’
  11. In January 2018, she managed to win the first-ever women’s Royal Rumble match. She was the 25th entry in the match and in the final stages of the match, she eliminated Nikki Bella and Ember Moon.
