Base Body Babes Felicia Oreb and Diana Johnson 2018 Workout Routine and Diet Plan
Diet Plan
Breakfast
Diana starts her days at 6 a.m. with black coffee and has breakfast at around 8 a.m. Felicia has breakfast at 9 a.m. They both have poached, boiled or scrambled eggs with some sauerkraut, two slices of gluten-free buttered toast, mixed cherry tomatoes and baby spinach.
Mid Morning Snack
As the breakfast is followed by a workout session, they fuel up again with a mid-morning snack of a green smoothie that has 30 grams of plant-based protein, half a frozen banana, two cubes of frozen spinach, a pinch of cinnamon, 6 ice cubes, a date and some coconut water.
Lunch
Lunch includes a portion of chicken, fish or red meat. If they are in a hurry, they have some tuna. Every lunch protein is accompanied by salad and rice.
Mid-Afternoon Snack
Rice cake with fresh tomato, avocado, and some tuna is their preferred afternoon snack.
Dinner
Dinner also includes some protein, carbs and a serving of vegetables.
Dessert
Felicia likes to indulge in a cup of peppermint tea and some squares of carob chocolate while Diana indulges in rice cakes with peanut butter and honey on the top. They often enjoy fresh fruit as dessert too.
Workout Routine
The fitness enthusiasts train 4 to 6 days a week and focus more on weight workouts rather than cardio only. To get a lean and beautiful body, they combine strength and circuit days.
On the strength days, the focus is on lifting weights and keeping the rep range low to ensure that the intensity of the entire session is maintained. On circuit days, they perform more reps (10-20) and do many exercises back to back with no rest period within a circuit. This approach helps turn their bodies into the cardio zone.
Fitness Essentials
Apart from diet and exercise, other fitness essentials they believe in are drinking plenty of water and getting adequate sleep. They aim for 8 hours of sleep in a night.
Fitness Tips for the Base Body Babes Fans
- Time Effective Workouts
If you are short on time, you should schedule your workout as a regular meeting and pick a gym that’s near to your workplace. You should also learn to prepare easy breakfast at work by carrying the healthy ingredients with you.
- Foods to Avoid
If you want to stay fit, avoid all types of deep-fried foods and soft drinks.
- Be Consistent
You cannot get fit if you are not consistent. Eat well and workout consistently if you want to stay fit. Opt for foods and workouts that you would stick to in the long run.
- Workout Motivation
Stay motivated to workout day after day by praising yourself when you hit a fitness goal. Also, make sure you set strength goals rather than weight loss goals as the former are easily visible.
If you can lift an extra kilo of barbell every week, then that’s a bigger achievement and a better motivator than losing a kilo of weight.
A Big Fitness Myth
According to Base Body Babes, a big fitness myth that women still believe in is that weightlifting will make them bulky. They think that women should know that weight lifting is a form of exercise that will help them achieve a certain body shape, which is a flat tummy, toned limbs and an attractive booty these days. Women should achieve this aim by either learning about the right exercises, the right foods, human movement, programming, and techniques or they can seek the help of a professional to lend a hand. Women should never be afraid of lifting weights just because they fear it will make them bulky.
