- His interest in music was ignited by his father, who taught him how to play the acoustic guitar when he was 8 years old.
- Cavetown has disclosed that despite his musical background, he never had plans to become a musician and that was somewhat a happy accident. He never wanted to write and play music only to make people feel good. In fact, he had wanted to do so to make himself feel better, initially.
