Chuck Connors was an American actor, writer, director, and professional basketball and baseball player who is best known for his role as Lucas McCain in the popular ABC series The Rifleman (1958-63). He has also been one of only 13 athletes in the history of American professional sports to have played in both Major League Baseball and the National Basketball Association. Chuck was also cast in several movies including Geronimo, Trouble Along the Way, Hold Back the Night, Death in Small Doses, Target Zero, Kill Them All and Come Back Alone, Captain Nemo and the Underwater City, The Birdmen, The Proud and Damned, Day of the Assassin, Hit Man, Legend of the Sea Wolf, and Good Morning, Miss Dove.
