Eric Singer is an American musician and songwriter who is better known as the hard rock and heavy metal drummer of the band Kiss. He also goes by a popular nickname “The Catman” after he outstandingly played the role which was then originally played by Peter Criss.   1. He started playing drums at a very young age.
  2. Growing up, he drew inspirations from several bands such as Humble Pie, The Who, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, The Beatles, Queen, and drummers like John Bonham, Keith  Moon, Cozy Powell, Roger Taylor, Bill Ward, and Buddy Rich.
  3. In December 1991, he officially became the drummer of the band Kiss following the death of the band’s former drummer, Eric Carr. He was hired and debuted with the band for the album Revenge in which he was originally expected to fill in for some tracks while Carr was recuperating from heart cancer.
  4. In 1989, Singer made a cameo appearance in the Wes Craven film Shocker where he played as one of the members of a fictional rock band.
  5. He was featured on Chris Catena’s debut album Freak Out in 2004.
  6. In 2015, he was elected to the jury of watchmaking’s highest awards, the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG).
  7. Ever since landing a professional career as a professional drummer, he has used Pearl drums, hardware and pedals, Remo and Terry Bozzio Attack signature drumheads, Zildjian cymbals and drumsticks, and ddrum acoustic drum triggers.
  8. He used to work at King Musical instruments prior to becoming a professional drummer.
