The Canadian actress, Evangeline Lilly has a great number of fans and a nice body physique. She has been more famous since she took the role of Kate Austen in the ABC’s drama series titled ‘Lost’. Her desirable and excellent looking figure is because of a right diet plan and sincere workouts. Let’s know some more facts about the workouts and dietary habits of the star.

Evangeline Lilly Workout Routine

The actress exercises for five times in a week, in her favorite gym (but a total of six times weekly). She focuses on cardio training, uphill running on treadmill, circuit training, strength training and toning exercises. Earlier, she exercised for 3 hours a day. Now, Lilly exercises for only 1 hour, daily. Apart from exercising, she also takes part in some outdoor sports and activities like snow boarding, rock climbing, golfing, jogging, surfing and ice skating. She also does yoga and Pilates for better concentration and peace of mind.

Evangeline Lilly’s perfect figure can be attributed to her strength training exercises. She uses resistance bands for performing body weight exercises along with lifting weights. Her workout days focus on different muscle groups of the body. Hence, the plan gives adequate rest to her muscles. She has toned and lean muscles, which can be attributed to her performing each exercise 4 to 5 times.

The workout plan is as follows:

  1. Chest and back exercises on Monday.
  2. Arms and leg exercises on Tuesday.
  3. Cardio exercises on Wednesday.
  4. Chest and back exercises on Thursday.
  5. Arms and legs exercises on Friday.
  6. Cardio exercises on Saturday
  7. Complete rest on Sunday.

With the help of visual impact cardio program, Lilly sheds more fat with each cardiovascular exercise session. Jessica Matthews, Lilly’s personal trainer helps her in all these stuff . With the help of body weight exercises, Evangeline feels more balanced and has more stable joints. Some of the exercises that Evangeline does are listed below. She performs them on non-consecutive days.

Stand with your feet together and place your arms on your hips. Step forward and form a lunge with your right leg. Now, slowly transfer all your body weight to your right leg. Drop hips towards the ground. Lower the body until the front thigh is parallel to the ground. Push off with the front leg and return to the start position. Repeat it 8 to 10 times.

Take a push up position. Extend your arms and legs. Contract your abdominal muscles. Push your hips up and backwards so that all your weight gets transferred backward. You will form an inverted V this way (shown above in the image). Hold the position for 1 to 2 minutes.

It is one of the most basic of all exercises, which can be performed with ease. Lower yourself on the ground by using your hands and knees. The hands should be shoulder-width apart. Contract your abs and arms and lower your body to the floor. Your elbows will flare out in the process. Then, press upwards so that your hands get fully extended.

Lie on the ground on the left side of your body. The left elbow should be under the shoulder. Now place the right foot on the left foot. Lift your knees and hips off the ground mat. The left side of the foot, the left forearm and elbow should be touching the ground. Then inhale and slowly lower the body back to the ground. You can hold from about 15 to 30 seconds each time you lift your body.

Evangeline eats many plant based food items. Some 75% of these are in the raw form. Raw means uncooked and unprocessed. She also prefers organic food. This is so, because many vital enzymes gets destroyed, when we cook vegetables and other food items above 116 degree Fahrenheit. Lilly uses a dehydrator which blows hot air over the vegetables and fruits in such a way that the temperature never crosses 116 degree Fahrenheit. She also soaks her nuts and blends her juices so that their nutritional value is not lost. This is a great way of eating food and everyone should follow it. The advantage of this diet plan is that it excludes all the bad fats, cholesterols and carbohydrates while preserving the vitamins and minerals of the food.

Evangeline says she has an obsession with healthy food. She also has an addiction for sugar and admits eating sugar candies, jujubes and licorice. Lilly eats something sweet each day. She also does not allow working pressures of Hollywood to mount on her mind. A hard working actress though, she recommends healthy diet plan for everybody. She also suggests a proper sleep and ample amount of hydration. Sound sleep helps to prevent bloating.
