Faysal Quraishi Facts

  1. In 2014, he starred as the titular character in the immensely popular drama series, Bashar Momin. Moreover, the series became the first ever Pakistani drama to air on Indian television under the title Aks.
  2. His father was diagnosed with a brain hemorrhage when he was 17 years old and sadly passed away just 1 month before Faysal made his film debut with Saza in 1992. The fact that his father could not be around to witness his success has been Faysal’s biggest regret in life.
  3. As of early 2024, he has received 4 Lux Style Awards: ‘Best TV Actor (Satellite)’ for his performance in Main Aur Tum in 2005, ‘Best TV Actor (Satellite)’ for Meri Zaat Zarra-e-Benishan in 2011, ‘Best TV Actor (Satellite)’ for Roag in 2012, and ‘Best TV Actor’ for Rang Laaga in 2016.
  4. In spite of his huge popularity on the small screen, Faysal could not attain the same level of success on the big screen. Nevertheless, some of his most notable film works include Saza (1992), Nangay Paon (1993), Manto (2015), Nadia (1997), Bobby (1998), Laloolal.com (2016), and Money Back Guarantee (2023).
  5. On July 30, 2019, the Children’s Literature Festival appointed him as one of its CLF Goodwill Ambassadors along with Ahsan Khan, Omair Rana, Hasan Khan, Juggan Kazim, Shamyl Khan, Khaled Anam, Rana Majid, Ally Adnan, Ali Noor, Nadia Jamil, Sami Khan, Usman Butt, and Ali Hamza.
  6. Faysal has been petrified of heights since his childhood.
  7. In December 2023, he made headlines by advocating for the release of Indian films in Pakistan to help boost the country’s film economy which has struggled tremendously since the ban was announced in early 2019.
