  1. She won the Venice Film Festival Award for “Best Actress” and a César award for her performance in the drama film Three Colors: Blue (1993).
  2. At the age of 17, she directed and starred in a student production of the Eugène Ionesco play, Exit the King. 
  3. She made her first TV show appearance in the three-part TF1 television series Dorothée, danseuse de corde (1983).
  4. She made her first feature-film debut in a minor role in the drama film Liberty Belle (1983). At that time, her role required only 2 days of filming onset but it was encouraging enough to inspire her more to pursue a career in acting.
  5. In the 1990s, she was cast in a variety of critically and commercially successful international films, which left her with praises and awards.
  6. She had been recognized internationally as an A-list movie star during the early 2000s with her onscreen character portraying a somewhat fixed persona. At the time of her reign as an actress, she was also interested in trying something new and made her comeback to the French cinema in an unexpected role as a ditsy beautician in the movie Jet Lag in 2002. The film directed by Daniel Thompson was a box office hit in France, giving Binoche another nomination in César for a “Best Actress” award.
  7. Binoche became a supporter and patron of the French Cambodian charity Enfants d’Asie in 1992. She has also been involved with a non-profit organization called Reporters Without Borders, an organization that conducts political advocacies on issues relating to freedom of information and freedom of the press. Binoche joined this high-profile organization to flaunt her support for Jill Carroll and two Iraqi journalists who were abducted in Baghdad.
  8. In October 2022, Juliette had cut her hair as a sign of protest against the Iranian government after the death of Mahsa Amini, who died in Iran after she was arrested for improperly wearing her hijab.
