- As a child, Brian grew up in a normal religious and supportive family.
- The character of Katya was discovered by Brian when he shot a video show in the final year of college. He hosted the show as a Russian drag character which later went on to become his full-fledged drag persona named ‘Katya Zamolodchikova’.
- The full name of drag queen Katya Zamolodchikova is Yekaterina Petrovna Zamolodchikova which is inspired by the name of her favorite Russian gymnast – Elena Zamolodchikova.
- One of the reasons that Katya has such a difficult last name is because she knew it would be impossible for the Americans to pronounce it.
- Katya started learning Russian when she was in college and loved it.
- For 4 years, she lived above the drag venue Jacques Cabaret and became a popular drag performer there.
- In an interview in 2016, she revealed that she was highly addicted to crystal meth and alcohol back in the time when she first started her career in drag. She also stated that at times, she really struggled due to her addiction.
