  1. Sothern and her sisters were brought up in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
  2. Ann was four years old when her parents legally parted ways and later called for divorce in 1927.
  3. She began touring with her mother to her concerts at an early age.
  4. In her teens, Ann appeared in numerous high school stage productions and also directed various shows.
  5. She made her debut TV show appearance in Schlitz Playhouse of Stars in 1952. Later, in 1953, Ann was cast as Susan Camille “Susie” MacNamara in her own sitcom Private Secretary which earned her three Primetime Emmy Award nominations.
  6. After her parents parted ways, Ann’s mother relocated to Los Angeles, working as a vocal coach for Warner Bros. studios. However, Ann moved with her father to Seattle.
  7. Aside from acting, Ann was also the manager of various businesses and production companies. She founded the Ann Sothern Sewing Center in Sun Valley, Idaho, which manufactured and sold fabric, patterns, and sewing machines. On the other hand, Ann was also the owner of a cattle ranch in Idaho named the A Bar S Cattle Company.
  8. She was the founder and owner of Vincent Productions, Inc. and Anso Productions.
  9. Ann died on March 15, 2001, from heart failure while at her place in Ketchum. Her final resting place is at the Ketchum Cemetery.
  10. She was given two stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame: “for motion pictures, at 1612 Vine Street”; and “television, at 1634 Vine Street.”
