Kep1er is a South Korean girl group that was formed in 2021 through the Mnet reality survival competition show Girls Planet 999. The 9-membered group made its official debut with the extended play titled First Impact on January 3, 2022. Managed by Swing Entertainment and Wake One Entertainment, Kep1er‘s discography also consists of other extended plays and songs such as Wa Da Da, Up!, Doublast, Fly-Up, Troubleshooter, and We Fresh. The group has also been a recipient of several accolades including the Asia Artist Award, K-Global Heart Dream Award, Korea Model Award, MAMA Award, Mnet Japan Fan’s Choice Award, Brand Customer Loyalty Award, The Fact Music Award, and Cable TV Broadcasting Award.

- The group’s name was suggested by the viewers of Girls Planet 999 through the website Naver.
- The group’s name “Kep1er” is a reference to the planets in the Kepler star systems named after the 16th-century astronomer Johannes Kepler.
- The group was originally scheduled to debut on December 14, 2021, as well as was scheduled to perform at the 2021 Mnet Asian Music Awards on December 11, 2021. However, the debut was delayed to January 3, 2022, after one of their staff members tested positive for COVID-19 while the performance at the 2021 Mnet Asian Music Awards was also canceled.
- The song Wa Da Da from Kep1er‘s debut extended play (EP) First Impact was released on January 3, 2022, by Wake One Entertainment. It peaked at #9 on Japan (Japan Hot 100) chart, at #10 on the Japan Combined Singles (Oricon) chart, at #13 on the World Digital Song Sales (Billboard) chart, and at #70 on South Korea (K-pop Hot 100) chart.
