The film is based on the 1883 novel The Adventures of Pinocchio by Carlo Collodi.
  6. In 2004, he brought to life the character of Gianni in the drama film The Keys to the House (Italian: Le chiavi di casa). The film was selected as the Italian entry for the “Best Foreign Language Film” at the 77th Academy Awards.
