- He was raised in a Sikh family. His father is a businessman whereas his mother is a housewife.
- Despite having no previous acting experience, Manjot went to audition for the film Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye! directed by Dibakar Banerjee. At first, Manjot was rejected by the casting director of the film, however, Dibakar was so impressed by his audition that he insisted on casting Manjot for the younger version of the character Young Lovinder ‘Lucky’ Singh.
- Upon having been chosen for the film Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!, Manjot was sent off to attend a week-long acting workshop in Manali. There, he was asked to imitate the walk, smile, and accent of the film’s lead actor Abhay Deol.
- In 2010, Manjot was announced as part of the contestants who would be taking part in Fear Factor – Khatron Ke Khiladi Level 3.
