  1. Although he came from a family that has worked in the film industry, his parents wanted Selvaraghavan and his siblings to seek a career with an academic background.
  2. He directed the 2003 Tamil-language romantic psychological thriller film Kaadhal Kondein, starring Dhanush, Sonia Agarwal, and Sudeep Sarangi. For this, Selvaraghavan was nominated for a Filmfare Award in the “Best Director” category.
  3. He wrote and directed the 2010 Tamil-language action-adventure film Aayirathil Oruvan, loosely inspired by the historical decline of the Tamil Chola dynasty and the rise of the Tamil Pandya dynasty. The film won the Edison Award for “Best Thriller Film” and Selvaraghavan was nominated for a Filmfare Award for “Best Director”.
  4. In 2022, he made his acting debut as Althaf Hussain (Veera’s ex-associate) in the Tamil-language action-comedy film Beast.
  5. He developed retinal cancer during his youth and one of his eyes was removed.
  6. Alongside Keerthy Suresh, Selvaraghavan co-starred as Sangaiyyah in the 2022 Tamil-language action crime film Saani Kaayidham.
