New Orleans Saints 2026 roster body stats

The Saints are in full rebuild mode under Kellen Moore, and the roster looks nothing like the Drew Brees-era rosters that dominated the NFC South for a decade. Younger, leaner at some spots, massive at others. The 2025 draft class alone added a 6’5″ quarterback and a 315-pound left tackle, and the vets still hanging around — Cam Jordan, Demario Davis, Taysom Hill — are some of the most durable bodies in the league.

Here’s a look at the measurables of the players shaping the Saints’ 2026 roster, plus the one former Saint whose health story still looms over the franchise: Steve Gleason. Heights and weights are NFL-listed figures, which run a little generous in places but are the standard across the league.

1. Steve Gleason

Gleason played safety and special teams for the Saints from 2000 to 2006 at a listed 5 ft 11 in and 212 lbs — undersized even then, which is why he built his career on gunner work and punt blocks. His blocked punt against Atlanta on September 25, 2006, in the Superdome’s reopening game is still the most replayed moment in franchise history.

He was diagnosed with ALS in January 2011 at age 33. Gleason has lived with the disease for more than a decade, using eye-tracking technology to communicate, and his Team Gleason foundation has funded equipment for thousands of ALS patients. In January 2020 he became the first NFL player awarded the Congressional Gold Medal. His playing-day stats barely tell the story anymore — the health fight does.

2. Tyler Shough

Shough stands 6 ft 5 in and weighs around 219 lbs — long-limbed and slim-framed, built more like a basketball wing than a prototypical pocket passer. New Orleans took him 40th overall in the 2025 draft out of Louisville, ending a seven-year college run that also included Oregon and Texas Tech.

He turned 26 in September 2025, making him the oldest quarterback taken in the class. Durability was the knock — multiple season-ending injuries in college — so the staff has had him adding functional weight without slowing his release.

3. Alvin Kamara

Kamara is listed at 5 ft 10 in and 215 lbs, carrying it low and thick through the hips and thighs — the build that lets a back his height run through arm tackles. He turned 30 in July 2025 and is still the most-searched name on the roster.

He’s a vegan-leaning eater who’s talked publicly about cutting most red meat, and does most of his offseason work on field-based agility rather than max-effort lifting. Six Pro Bowls through 2024.

4. Chris Olave

Olave measures 6 ft 0 in and 188 lbs, one of the lightest starting receivers in the NFC. The Ohio State product ran a 4.39-second 40 at the 2022 Combine and was drafted 11th overall that year.

Concussions have been the issue — he was placed in protocol multiple times during 2024 — and the Saints have been deliberate about his conditioning load since.

5. Cameron Jordan

Jordan is 6 ft 4 in, 287 lbs, and has played more games than any defensive player in Saints history. Born July 10, 1989, he’s spent his entire career in New Orleans since being drafted 24th overall in 2011.

Eight Pro Bowls. He’s barely missed a game, which for a 287-pound edge rusher in his mid-30s is absurd.

6. Taysom Hill

Hill goes 6 ft 2 in, 221 lbs, and is probably the most physically unusual player in the league — he’s lined up at quarterback, tight end, running back, fullback and on four special teams units. He reportedly squats and power cleans at levels most linebackers don’t touch.

Born August 23, 1990, he tore his ACL in late 2024 and spent most of 2025 working back. BYU product, undrafted in 2017.

7. Demario Davis

Davis is 6 ft 2 in and 248 lbs of almost comically low body fat for a 36-year-old linebacker. Born January 11, 1989, he’s been a first- or second-team All-Pro multiple times since signing with New Orleans in 2018.

His conditioning is legendary inside the building — he’s played nearly every defensive snap in several seasons. Arkansas State grad.

8. Kelvin Banks Jr.

The ninth overall pick in 2025, Banks is 6 ft 5 in and about 315 lbs with 33½-inch arms. He won the Outland Trophy at Texas in 2024 and started every game of his college career.

He’s the long-term answer at left tackle and, at 21 when drafted, has room to add another 10-15 lbs without losing foot speed.

9. Erik McCoy

McCoy is the biggest listed body on the interior at 6 ft 4 in and 303 lbs. Texas A&M product, drafted in the second round in 2019, and a Pro Bowler in 2022.

He’s tall for a center — most sit closer to 6’2″ — which has forced constant work on pad level and hip flexibility.

10. Kool-Aid McKinstry

McKinstry checks in at 6 ft 0 in and 195 lbs, the classic long-corner frame. The Alabama product was a second-round pick in 2024 and missed his rookie preseason with a Jones fracture in his foot before starting as a rookie.

He ran a 4.47 at his pro day and plays with elite short-area quickness.

11. Devin Neal

Neal is 5 ft 11 in, 213 lbs, drafted in the sixth round in 2025 out of Kansas, where he became the program’s all-time leading rusher. A Lawrence, Kansas native who stayed home for college.

Compact, powerful through contact, and the most likely candidate to take real carries off Kamara’s plate in 2026.

Together, the Saints’ 2026 core skews tall at the skill spots and surprisingly light at receiver — Olave at 188 lbs and Shough at 219 lbs are outliers by position. And Gleason’s 212-pound playing frame remains the smallest body on this list and the one everyone in New Orleans still talks about.
