  1. He started writing songs, short stories, and poetry at the age of 10.
  2. Before he started acting, he was focused on becoming a rapper. In 1991, he even formed a rap group called Wolfpack with his cousin.
  3. His debut movie proved to be a huge boost for his career as the movie and Epps’s acting was highly praised by the critics.
  4. He grew up in tough New York City neighborhoods (Bedford-Stuyvesant, East New York, and East Flatbush), which were crime-ridden and were hotbeds for drug smuggling.
  5. Apart from English, he is also fluent in Spanish and French.
  6. Omar’s father abandoned him and his mother in his early childhood. He never got to know his father.
  7. He was cast by Blackstreet in their music video of the single Before I Let You Go in 1994.
  8. In May 2018, he published his memoirs titled, From Fatherless to Fatherhood. He talked about his fatherless childhood as well as his journey to become an accomplished actor and TV star. Unlike other actors and celebrities, he has written his memoirs on his own.
