Oscar Robertson studied at Crispus Attucks High School (also known as Crispus Attucks Medical Magnet High School), an all-black high school located in Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana. During his time there, he played basketball and was coached by basketball coach and educator Ray Crowe. He scored 24.0 points per game in his senior season and was named Indiana Mr. Basketball in 1956.

1. He was raised in a household that struggled financially and he was raised in a segregated housing project in Indianapolis, Indiana.
2. In the 1960 NBA draft, Oscar Robertson was drafted by the Cincinnati Royals as a territorial pick. He received a $33,000 signing bonus.
3. He became the first player in NBA history to average a triple-double for a season in 1962.
4. The Cincinnati Royals traded him to the Milwaukee Bucks prior to the 1970–71 season. Although no reason was provided officially, it was suspected that head coach Bob Cousy was jealous of all the attention Robertson was getting.
