  1. He was in 4th grade when his mother passed away.
  2. His name “Bo-gum” means ‘precious sword’.
  3. Growing up, Park Bo-gum wanted to pursue a career in music and become a singer-songwriter. However, after someone suggested that he would do better in acting, he took the suggestion and has been flourishing as an actor ever since.
  4. He was in kindergarten when he began learning the piano. He has also been a pianist as well as a choir member at church.
  5. As a singer, he has released some singles such as Let’s go see the stars, Bloomin, and My Person.
  6. Park Bo-gum appeared as Bae Soo-bong in the epic action-war film, The Admiral: Roaring Currents in 2014. Directed by Kim Han-min, the film is based on the epic Battle of Myeongnyang and its lead cast comprised of actors Choi Min-sik, Ryu Seung-ryong, and Cho Jin-woong.
  7. In 2015, he was cast as Park Seok-hyun in the drama film, Coin Locker Girl, alongside the likes of Kim Hye-soo, Kim Go-eun, Uhm Tae-goo, and Go Kyung-pyo. For this role, he won several awards and nominations such as the 11th Max Movie Award in the “Rising Star” category and 52nd Baeksang Arts Award in the “Most Popular Actor, Film” as well as “Best New Actor, Film” categories.
