  1. Before he led the West Indies to the 2016 Under-19 ICC Cricket World Cup title, Shimron had played just 5 domestic games for Guyana in the Caribbean domestic circuit.
  2. In his List A (50 overs) debut match, he had scored a century against Trinidad and Tobago, in January 2015. His T20 debut match was the exact opposite experience for him as he was dismissed for a duck (a score of 0) while playing for Guyana Amazon Warriors in the 2016 season of the Caribbean Premier League.
  3. In August 2018, he had become the youngest batsman to score a century in the CPL when he had made 100 runs for Guyana Amazon Warriors against the Jamaica Tallawahs.
  4. In October 2018, he had scored a hundred off just 74 balls in an ODI match against India. As of May 2021, this was the 10th-fastest ODI century scored by a West Indies batsman.
  5. In June 2019, in a match against Bangladesh, he had reached the milestone of 1,000 ODI runs for the West Indies senior national team. The performance had made him the fourth-fastest West Indian batsman to reach the milestone of 1,000 ODI runs. He had achieved the feat in just 29 innings.
  6. In May 2022, for the birth of his first child, he left the bio-bubble of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in the middle of the season and traveled back to Guyana.
