- Being a well-established Bharatanatyam dancer. She was honored by the Indian Government with Padma Shri Award in 2006 and Kala Ratna Award by the Kerala Government in 2014.

- After 5 years of intensive study at the Chidambaram Academy, she made her debut on stage in 1984, from whereon she has become a popular face in the field of classical dancing.
