The first step shared by Pasternak is quite obvious. One should eat at least 5 meals in a day. Three of them should be regular meals and two snacks. You should make sure that you include protein and fiber in every meal as they will help you stay away from hunger pangs by making you feel full soon enough.
Choose Healthy Snacks
The star trainer stated that you should also carry healthy snacking options with you all the times so that you don’t end up munching on unhealthy items like a candy bar or a burger. Keeping a bag of almonds with you is a smart and healthy option. (It works too!!!)
Drink Plenty of Water
You should also make sure that you drink a lot of water everyday so that you don’t make the error of mistaking thirst for hunger and eating unnecessarily, which will certainly harm your New Year weight loss journey.
Take Long Walks
Hate gyms? No worries, the successful author has a perfect solution for you. Just walk at least 10,000 steps in a day by moving around every once in a while and avoid doing all the steps in one go. Being active throughout the day is way better than exercising for an hour and then lazing around the entire day. (And we agree!!!)
Get Inspired
If you are not sure whether you can walk 10,000 steps daily, then you should make it like a competition. Compete with your family, friends or even your neighbors as it will motivate you to get better than the other person.
Sleep Tight
The TV host also advises you to sleep at least 7 hours every night as it will re-energize you to take the 10,000 steps every day. A good sleep would also keep your mind alert and you will make healthy diet choices. He also advises you to stay away from electronic devices like SmartPhones as they harm your sleep. He urges you to use aids like eye mask to get better sleep.
5 Minute Exercise Only
Doing resistance exercises for five minutes daily can help you to build and maintain muscle, get rid of extra fat and protect your bones, believes the host of The Revolution (2012-2012). You just need a pair of dumbbells to get started and you can start with simpler exercises like squats, bicep curls, shoulder presses, lunges, etc.
Rest Your Mind
The last tip shared by the trainer of Lady Gaga is that you should take one hour time everyday to calm your mind. Stay away from technology for a while, meditate alone, take a long walk or play with your kids to attain some mental peace. The regular dose of mental peace will reduce your stress levels and hence add to your weight loss efforts. Start the meditation by clearing your mind for 5 minutes and focusing on your breath. You’ll get used to it slowly.
