Tie Domi is a Canadian retired professional ice hockey player who is well-known for his playing position as the grinder and for being one of the few players who notched up tons of penalty minutes due to his extremely aggressive and physical play during each of his game. In his entire 16-year playing career in the ice hockey industry, he played for the Toronto Maple Leafs, Winnipeg Jets, and New York Rangers. Before he officially became a professional ice hockey player joining the American Hockey League (AHL) in 1989, he was first an active ice hockey player during his minor and junior years. During his early years, he played more games, honed his skills, and quickly gained his reputation as an enforcer; an unofficial role in ice hockey that is often given to players who respond to any violent play of the opposing team.

He joined AHL’s Newmarket Saints during the 1989-90 season and recorded an overall score of 14 goals and 25 points. Following his successful entrance as a professional to the ice hockey industry, he made his debut to the National Hockey League (NHL) and appeared in 2 games with Toronto Maple Leafs on the same year. He was traded to the New York Rangers and scored his first NHL goal during the 1990-91 season for 28 games.
