Willdabeast Adams is an American professional dancer and choreographer who is best known for founding a dance company called immaBEAST – in 2013. It has gone on to become one of the biggest hip-hop brands in the United States and has had a major influence on American dance culture. The company later expanded into the production of videos and short films as well. By 2015, Willdabeast had transformed immaBEAST‘s annual audition process into a workshop-cum-convention called the BuildaBeast Experience – a 5-day event held in California that consists of 4 days of workshops with some top choreographers followed by the immaBEAST audition on the 5th day. By this time, the convention’s size had already crossed the mark of 1,000 dancers. In February 2017, Willdabeast started another venture – a dance studio called IMMA S p a c e. - Willdabeast began getting trained in professional-level dance in his late teenage years in cities like Chicago and his hometown of Indianapolis. He soon started traveling across the United States to attend dance conventions like Monsters of Hip Hop.
- In the late 2000s, he joined an Indianapolis-based dance crew called Destined 2 Be with whom he won a dance competition organized by the Indiana Black Expo (a nonprofit organization that is responsible for overseeing 2 of the state of Indiana’s largest cultural events – the Indiana Black Expo Summer Celebration and the Circle City Classic) for 2 years in succession. The crew earned a perfect score on both occasions – a feat that had never before been achieved at this particular event.
- A few months later, Willdabeast and the crew cleared 2 rounds of America’s Got Talent – a highly popular televised talent show competition. This exposure helped the crew land work in multiple movies, TV commercials, and short films.
- In late 2009, he moved to Los Angeles and the following year, he landed a job as a dancer on tour for American rapper, singer, songwriter, and record producer T-Pain. Around the same time, Willdabeast also scored jobs as a choreographer for some TV commercials for Nike, Inc., an American multinational manufacturer of sports apparel, and equipment.
